Forklift Weighing Systems
Forklift weighing systems, also known as in-motion weighing systems, are integrated scales that let operators weigh loads as they are lifted and transported — eliminating a separate weighing process entirely.
With a hydraulic weighing system, you measure the weight of loads via the hydraulic pressure of the lift mast. The system is quick to install on both new and used forklifts and provides instant insight into load weight without any additional handling.
Because it does not require additional sensors in the forks, the forklift remains fully usable without structural modification. The weight shows directly on the in-cab display, so the operator works without stops or extra moves. It is ideal for check weighing, overload prevention and inventory management.

- Sensing
- Hydraulic pressure
- Fitment
- New or used trucks
- Readout
- In-cab display

How it works
- Load cells or weight sensors integrate into the forks, carriage or lifting mechanism
- Hydraulic systems read mast pressure instead of adding sensors to the forks
- Weight is displayed in-cab and can be transferred to business and inventory systems
Benefits
- Increased efficiency — weighing and handling happen in the same motion
- Improved accuracy for inventory management, shipping and receiving
- Enhanced safety by keeping loads within capacity and conforming to regulation
- Optimised loading through balanced, secure weight distribution
- Data collection straight into business systems and weight apps
Applications
- Warehousing and logistics
- Shipping and receiving
- Inventory management
- Waste management

Supplied across South Africa & Zambia
Forklift Weighing Systems is supplied from the Nelspruit head office and warehouse into South Africa and the southern territories, and through the Kitwe branch into Zambia, the Copperbelt and the southern DRC corridor. Johannesburg holds stock for Gauteng and Solwezi serves the North-Western province mines.
Forklift Weighing Systems — questions
- 01How accurate is a forklift weighing system?
- Hydraulic systems read mast pressure, so accuracy depends on the truck, the calibration and how level the lift is. They are well suited to check weighing, overload prevention and stock control, and are not a legal-for-trade substitute for a weighbridge.
- 02Can a weighing system be fitted to an existing forklift?
- Yes. Hydraulic systems install on both new and used trucks without structural modification, because they tap the lift circuit rather than adding load cells into the forks.
- 03Where is the weight displayed?
- On an in-cab display, as the load is lifted. Readings can be passed into business and inventory systems where the site wants the data captured rather than read.
