Load Reach Extenders

Extra fork length for the occasional long load

Need to get a little extra length on the forks of your lift truck? Load Reach Extender sleeves are designed to provide a simple but effective method of handling the occasional long and awkward load that extends past the tips of the parent fork arm.

Load reach extenders are sleeves that slide over the existing fork arms to add length for the occasional load that overhangs the fork tips. They need no hydraulic connection and no carriage work — they go on when the load arrives and come off afterwards.

They are the cheapest attachment in the catalogue and the most commonly misused, so the rule matters: an extender lengthens the forks, it does not increase the truck’s capacity. The load centre moves forward, the rated capacity comes down, and the extension should not exceed the safe proportion of the parent fork length. We quote them against the parent fork dimensions for that reason.

  • Slip-on design requires no hydraulic connection
02

Where it is used

  • Occasional long or awkward loads in an otherwise standard pallet operation
  • Trade counters and retail yards handling timber, sheet and section
  • Shipping and receiving bays taking in oversized crates
  • Factories moving long fabricated items between bays

05Forklift compatibility

Fits ISO Class II, III and IV fork carriages

In service on Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Jungheinrich, TCM, Manitou, JCB, Feeler, Yale and Komatsu trucks across the region.

  • Hydraulic attachments run off the truck’s auxiliary services; where a truck has too few, an additional service or a solenoid selector can be fitted.
  • Mechanical attachments slip over standard fork arms and need no hydraulic connection at all.
  • Fitting an attachment changes the truck’s rated capacity, so the derated capacity plate is confirmed as part of the quote.

07Questions

Load Reach Extenders — questions

01Do fork extensions reduce the forklift’s capacity?
Yes. The load centre moves forward, so the truck’s safe capacity with extensions fitted is lower than its plated rating. Treat extensions as a way to reach a load, not a way to lift more.
02How long can fork extensions be?
They are sized against the parent forks rather than the load. As a rule the unsupported portion should stay within the safe proportion of the parent fork length, which is why we ask for the existing fork dimensions before quoting.
