Logistics, Container Loading & Cross-Border Freight

In logistics the cubic metre is the unit of account. Everything in this hub is about getting more product into the same container and getting it there undamaged.

A wooden pallet is about 140 mm of height and 25 kg of mass that a customer never asked for. Slip-sheet handling with a push pull removes both, and on a long export leg that difference is the whole business case: more product per container, fewer containers per consignment, and no one-way pallets to buy.

Carton clamps do the same job for boxed goods, which is why appliance and packaged-goods distribution runs on them. Single-double pallet handlers cut the number of trips between trailer and staging area, and load stabilizers keep the load intact when the yard surface is not what the brochure assumed.

The group also moves freight across the region every week, which is a practical part of what is being bought here. Cross-border consignments into Zambia, the DRC corridor, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique are arranged as part of the order rather than left as the customer’s problem at the border.

01What this sector brings us

The recurring problems

01

Paying to ship pallets

Push pulls replace pallets with slip sheets, and fork-mounted versions come off in minutes so the truck goes back to pallet work between containers.

02

Container space lost to handling clearances

Thin-arm carton clamps stack boxed product with almost no gap, and pallet-free handling recovers the height the pallet was using.

03

Damage claims from the yard, not the road

Load stabilizers and correctly specified clamping pressure address the part of the journey that happens between the racking and the trailer.
